I am excited to announce that I am running for the Board of our local Water Replenishment District, Division 2, which covers the area from Playa del Rey through the South Bay and the Palos Verde Peninsula down to San Pedro and Wilmington.

The election will be held in November 2016. I am getting started now to run the best possible campaign I can and win early support from leaders in the environmental community and from the voters whose lives are affected by the decisions of the Water Replenishment District.

Never before have water issues been more important to our region and our state. My background in environmental activism and economic policy, together with my years helping government agencies be more effective and collaborative, is critical to the balanced and sustainable decision-making needed now where we live. We must all work together to make sure we have an effective Integrated Regional Water Management Plan and make the urgent investments we need in our rainwater capture and water-recycling infrastructure.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these critical issues. Together, we can make the right decisions to secure our district’s water future, in the 2016 election, and beyond.
